WHAT'S IN THE BOX: SEPTEMBER 2016 PICTURE BOOK

This box included two books as well as a couple of fun items. Our hardcover choice was There’s a Bear on My Chair by author/illustrator Ross Collins from Glasgow, Scotland. The Kirkus Review described this book as “silly, laugh-out loud fun” and we couldn’t agree more. It’s no wonder this book was shortlisted for the prestigious Kate Greenaway Award with its delightful illustrations and Seuss-like rhyme. The author was kind enough to send us a wonderful letter with a wee little illustration to put in the box.

Book two The Black Rabbit, was recently published in paperback. Also nominated for the Kate Greenaway Award, it was Kent, England’s Philippa Leathers’ debut book. An absolutely charming story about a little rabbit and the shadow he just can’t shake. One Marmalade customer told us it was her son’s favourite and he only wanted to read this book right now! Mom said he is obsessed!! What more can we say.
