MARCH 2021 PICTURE BOOK BOX  

• Windows by Julia Denos and illustrated by E.B. Goodale is new in paperback. In the early evening a young boy and his dog take a walk in their neighbourhood. As they walk by houses and buildings, the windows tell stories of the occupants inside. A poetic text and images filled with yellow and orange hues, Windows is a perfect bedtime read. This beautiful book received many awards and honours when it was first published in hardcover. It was E.B. Goodale’s debut book for which she won the Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Honor. 
• Ten Little Dumplings by Larissa Fan and illustrated by Cindy Wume. Inspired by a true story, Larissa Fan’s father was one of ten brothers growing up in Taiwan. But there was also a sister and this book takes her viewpoint. The ten little boys always got the attention but the little girl was always there listening, learning and studying. Author Larissa grew up with three brothers. Eric, Terry and Devin Fan, better known in the children’s book world as the Fan Brothers. We are now fans of all the Fan siblings!! Like her brothers, Larissa lives in Toronto, Ontario.
